BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 10% of leagues
ANALYSIS: At this point in time it feels wrong that someone like Mark Canha keeps being overlooked. In 2019, his fifth MLB season, he's slashing .269/.385/.517, with a .902 OPS, all of those numbers being career-best marks. Adding wood to the fire, he just hit his 20th home run after and has evem stolen a couple of bases.
It is hard to find reasons why Canha is only owned in 10% of the leagues. He can hit both righties and lefties (.404 and .395 wOBA respectively), constantly hits in the heart of the A's lineup (fourth or fifth spot), and he's having a season on par (if not better) than that of highly-coveted A's outfielder Ramon Laureano, as Canha's 141 wRC+ beats Laureano's 123.
Canha's August has been scorching hot. He currently has a slash line of .354/.432/.508 in the month. Although he hasn't walked at all and has stroke out 25 times, he has had 23 hits in 74 PA to still sustain a good OBP. Canha's power-batter profile, combined with his overall batting prowess (he is on an eight-game hitting streak) makes him the perfect addition to contend for the playoffs. Consider him a free gift from waivers and pick him up as soon as you can.
