Mark Reynolds (1B / 3B, MIL) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add In Very Deep Leagues For Power Boost

ANALYSIS: This isn't the same Mark Reynolds who hit 44 bombs back in 2009, but he can still drive the ball out of the park. However, that's about where his fantasy appeal ends. He hasn't posted a batting average over .240 since his breakout 2009 campaign, and hasn't stolen more than seven bases since swiping 24 in that same season. The 31-year-old currently sits at 19 home runs with a .208 batting average in 303 at-bats for the Brewers. He can really only hit right-handed pitching at this point, with 16 of his 19 home runs coming against such pitchers. He is hitting a whopping .198 against lefties. Reynolds can be worth a pick up in NL-Only leagues or very deep mixed leagues for teams that need power help, but don't expect him to save your season, as he will really only help in one or two categories. If you are in a deep enough league that will allow you to only play Reynolds against righties, then definitely jump on that opportunity.
