BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Journeyman outfielder Marlon Byrd is coming off his best season since 2007. Playing for the Mets and Pirates last year, Byrd managed to hit 24 HR and drive in 88 runs. He is off to a hot 2014 with 5 hits in his first 13 AB’s (.385 AVG) including a HR. Coach Ryne Sandberg has moved him around the lineup the first three games hitting 1 game each in the 4, 5 and 6th slot. The Phillies lineup is an aging one, but the talent is there and can produce runs in bunches like the 14 they scored Opening Day in Texas. Byrd should expect to see plenty of AB’s as the starting RF. If you’re in need for some additional pop in your lineup, grab Byrd (owned in only 49% of Yahoo! leagues) if he is still available in your deep league.
