ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack has had an up-and-down year in terms of consistency, but he's trending upwards right now after accounting for 54 yards on just seven touches against a tough Jaguars defense. With the Colts out of contention in the AFC South, Mack could see more touches moving forward as the team shies away from Frank Gore, who is averaging just 52.7 yards-per-game, his lowest total since 2005.
Indianapolis has an enticing match-up in Week 14 with a Buffalo Bills defense that is giving up the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. Mack could take advantage of that this week and put up another strong game. The Bills are one of just two teams who opposing teams average at least a touchdown per game against, which means Mack has a better chance of finding the end zone than he has since Week 5, when he played against the 49ers.
In fact, Mack has scored touchdowns both times he's played teams that are in the bottom three in terms of points allowed to running backs, a trend that is worth monitoring this week.
