Marshawn Lynch Misses Practice, David Cobb Hardly Plays and Brandon Marshall Struggling

If you own Marshawn Lynch in any fantasy football leagues, you will not be happy to hear that he was sidelined on Thursday. Beast Mode is dealing with a abdomen injury that may keep him out of the team’s Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lynch is always a RB1 whenever he is healthy and playing. However, the 29-year-old is starting to slow down in his old age. Through seven games he has had 417 rushing yards on 111 carries and three touchdowns. He also has 13 receptions for 80 yards.

If Lynch is unable to play against the 49ers, Thomas Rawls would carry the load. I would consider Rawls a RB2 if he gets the start on Sunday.

If you took a risk and started Tennessee Titans rookie running back David Cobb, you couldn’t have been happy with the results last night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie only played eight of 71 offensive snaps and was clearly the team’s third running back behind Antonio Andrews and Dexter McCluster.

On the season he has four rushes for -3 yards.

Eventually Cobb will get an opportunity to prove himself for the Titans. But for the time being Andrews has been doing a great job of carrying the load. He has 99 carries for 376 yards and two touchdowns on the season. He has added 11 receptions for 116 yards.

McCluster is the team’s third down back that they use a lot in passing situations. In addition to 235 yards and a touchdown on the ground, he has 27 receptions for 222 yards and another touchdown in the receiving game.

In other news, New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been struggling against double coverage as of late. In the past four games, Marshall has only hauled in 20 of his 43 targets for just 242 yards and two touchdowns.

To Marshall’s credit, he hasn’t been fully healthy in a few weeks. He claims he’s been struggling since Week 7 when the Jets faced the Patriots.

"That’s when it started happening. Before that, teams were doubling me, but they would give us one, two, three shots a game when they weren’t and we were capitalizing on them," Marshall said, according to the New York Post. "In the Patriots game it was more [double-coverage]. Now, teams are saying, ‘Take him out the whole game.’’’

In Marshall’s first five games with the Jets this season, he caught 37 passes for 511 yards and four touchdowns.

Despite his recent struggles, I still consider him a WR2 against the Houston Texans.
