BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Martin Perez showed his stuff in his season debut vs. the Phillies on Tuesday night, going 5 2/3 IP, with a pristine 7:0 K:BB ratio, while only allowing 2 ER. That's about as solid a debut as you can hope for from this young but erratic lefty down in Texas. He was solid during the 2013 season when he racked up 10 wins, a sub-4.00 ERA, and 85 Ks. He is not a huge strikeout pitcher so if that is what you are looking for he is not the one, but he will give you a solid ERA and a good amount of wins backed by the potent Texas offense. Perez is owned in less than 20% of Yahoo! leagues which is incredible to me because he seems to be past the pitching woes he faced early on in his career. You likely have the luxury of letting Perez fly under the radar for another start if you must, but if you are short on quality arms you should jump sooner than later.
