ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams, who posted an .858 OPS with the Braves last season, is back to his slugging ways in the NL East. He has a 1.042 OPS this season, slugging six home runs in just 61 at-bats and walking nine times already as well.
After only posting a .396 slugging percentage with the Cardinals in 2017, Adams posted a 1.042 OPS and 12 home runs in his first month with the Braves (May 22-June 22). While he cooled off by the end of the season, that streak shows that Adams can be an impact player if in the right opportunity. While he had an impressive 37.3% hard hit ball rate in 2017, that number is up to 41.9% this season and his line drive rate is an impressive 32.6% as well.
Matchups against the Padres and Diamondbacks are not amazing for Adams, particularly considering how well the Diamondbacks have been playing, but Adams still could be a decent streamer. He has a 1.112 OPS against righties this season, but make sure that you sit him against lefties (0-for-5 in 2018).
