Matt Garza shined in his return from the DL on Tuesday when he pitched six scoreless innings over the Cleveland Indians.
Garza (5-10) scattered six hits while striking out four batters during his first start in nearly three weeks because of shoulder tendinitis. The Brewers scored three runs over the first two innings, which was enough for Garza during his return to the rubber.
Despite his first quality start in over a month, the right-hander owns a 5.23 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. It was also his first win in a month and a half.
The Brewers are 10 games below .500 but are one of the hottest teams in MLB. The victory on Tuesday marked the fourth straight win and sixth in eight games. Milwaukee will look to end its homestand undefeated with an afternoon game on Wednesday.
Garza’s next start will be on Sunday in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
