BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 36% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp was never supposed to be a part of the team's plans this season, but has put up solid numbers. Kemp is hitting .313 with nine extra-base hits in 90 plate appearances so far this season, scoring 12 runs and knocking in 13.
While power is not a shock (he had 35 home runs for the Padres and Braves in 2016 and a .781 OPS for the Braves in 2017), hitting for average was thought to be outside of Kemp's skill set. Kemp has not had a .300 batting average since his 2012 All-Star season with the Dodgers and led the league with 25 GIDP in 2017. The most impressive stat in the 33-year-old's start, though, is his 45.2% hard hit ball rate which, coupled with his 25.8% line drive rate, makes his .379 BABIP stand up strongly.
After a quick two game series with the Diamondbacks, Kemp and the Dodgers host the Reds for four games. Look for Kemp to feast on the Reds' weak pitching, which is ranked 29th in ERA.
