Michael Beasley (SF/PF, HOU) - NBA Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 17% of Yahoo! Leagues

ANALYSIS: Talk about a blast from the past. The second overall pick from the 2008 NBA draft, Michael Beasley has found a new home in Houston, and has been thriving a bit in a reserve role. Over his last four games, Beasley has scored double digit points in each contest and has been rebounding well too. On Wednesday he scored 16 points and nabbed eight rebounds. His shooting percentages are pretty good, and he can occasionally contribute some defensive stats. He gives you virtually nothing in terms of assists, and I wouldn't expect more than the occasional shot from downtown.

As he continues to get into a groove with his new team, it's conceivable that Beasley will see a slight increase in minutes. If that happens, he could become a threat to double-double from time to time and that gives him value in most leagues. Frankly, the Rockets have no reason not to give him a chance to play more since Beasley is a much better offensive threat than any of their other bench options.
