ANALYSIS: Steve Clifford decided to entrust the starting point guard job to newly acquired Mo Williams over the incumbent Brian Roberts, and believe it or not, having a competent point guard on a night to night basis is benefiting the entire team. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist might be one of the biggest benefactors. The former John Calipari Wildcat is en fuego right now, rolling off three straight double-doubles and putting up some efficient numbers from the field and line. Always a terrific passer, it's his ability to grab boards and put the ball in the bucket that has been turning heads during the last few games. Ride the hot wave (16.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks and an impressive 54.9 percent from the field and 75.0 percent from the charity stripe) while you still can, but monitor him regularly. Nothing suggests that he is going to keeping these numbers up for the rest of the season.
