ANALYSIS: Shssh...Michael Pineda has been quietly good over the past two months. Just don't say it too loud or too often, because anytime people start talking about Pineda being good then it's almost a guarantee he'll shortly be headed back to the injured list for some new malady. Last time it was inflammation in his triceps, an injury that cost him just a short stay earlier this month, with Pineda returning on August 15 to earn the win versus the Texas Rangers, allowing three earned runs in five innings while striking out six.
In his last 10 starts, Pineda is 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA over 58 innings, giving up only one run in six of those ten. In Week 21, he'll have a favorable matchup when the Chicago White Sox come to town, who are 13 - 22 since the All-Star break. The White Sox also have a 26.3% K-rate against right-handers this year, a mark that is second-worst in baseball. Ride Pineda while he's healthy because he never stays that way for long.
