ANALYSIS: You can probably watch Mike Fiers ownership percentage increase in real time after his otherworldly start Thursday afternoon. Fiers punched out 14 Cubs before getting yanked after 6 IP and 106 pitches. Now frankly speaking, I think it's absolutely absurd that Ron Roenicke couldn't leave him in for at least 1 more non-K out - I mean the guy had a chance to breakout the single-game strikeout record! I digress, but that tangent should tell you all you need to know. Mike Fiers has a huge ceiling for the last 100 days of the season, and you need to own him for it. He had a 10:1 K:BB ratio in 102.1 Triple-A IP before getting the big league call this year, and he already showed in 2012 that he can punch out MLB hitters at an elite level (9.52 K/9 over 127.2 IP). Net net, pick him up, immediately, if not sooner!
