ANALYSIS: Not to say that Mike Fiers is really a sleeper anymore, seeing as he is owned in almost three out of every four leagues, but he is still under owned, given how he has pitched since returning to Milwaukee's rotation in early August. Six quality starts in six trips to the mound speak for themselves, which is why he is appearing on our waiver wire sleepers list.

With only one full year under his belt (2012), the 27-year-old's success has been incredibly unexpected. He mixes up five different pitches pretty well, but he doesn't have anything more than average stuff, as a whole. Fiers has a 9.43 K/9 ratio, a 2.15 BB/9 ratio, a 0.74 HR/9 ratio, a .222 BABIP and a 2.71 FIP, all of which are well about average. Basically, his command has improved, he is hitting spots that opposing batters aren't able to touch, and when the ball is put in play, it is not hit all that well. He has struck out as many as 14 batters in a game, and has yet to walk more than two.

Like Carrasco, it is perplexing that Fiers is not owned in almost all fantasy leagues. If you are an owner in one of the leagues where Fiers is unowned, grab him now. Chances are he is pitching better than at least one or two of the guys currently on your roster, and he is sure to help you make that last minute playoff push.
