Analysis: Mike James is somehow still available in over 50% of leagues. While he is beyond unlikely to wind up in Canton, Mike James has been getting a heavy workload with Doug Martin out. In a year with so few reliable halfbacks, any guy in his situation is worth owning. While there is talk that Martin could be ready to return, James is still worth owning in the likely event the Muscle Hamster can’t go. James had a huge day on Sunday, racking up 158 yards on 28 carries. He hauled in 2 passes for another 8 yards, and had the highlight of the game with a 2 yard passing touchdown to Tom Crabtree that looked more like a jump-shot over the O-line and closing secondary. If you are going for James, just keep in mind he plays on Monday night, so if Martin isn’t declared inactive by Sunday, you could be in for a tough decision when it comes to setting your lineup. I would be shocked if Martin plays though just a couple shorts weeks after a major injury. I can’t imagine the win-less Bucs risking their young star’s future. That said, it is Schiano.
