BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 15% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Texas Rangers pitcher Mike Minor has thrown four consecutive quality starts, putting him squarely on the lower end of the fantasy radar. Minor has has a 4.63 ERA in 91 1/3 innings with the Rangers this season, posting a 6-4 record and striking out 74 batters.
Minor is 2-0 with a 2.53 ERA since the beginning of June, seeing his strand rate rise from 69.3% for the season to 77.5% in this 32 inning sample. He still has had issues striking out batters, just 22, but has walked two batters or fewer in four of his five starts since the beginning of June. Minor has allowed 44.6% hard hit balls since the beginning of June, and has allowed 23.9% line drives and just 29.3% ground balls, but he has still put up solid numbers in spite of his shortcomings.
While we are suggesting to pick up Minor, do not pick him up for today's start against the Red Sox in Boston, as pitching in Fenway against the Red Sox is a recipe for disaster. A start against the Orioles in Baltimore next weekend is considerably easier for the lefty and makes him a good addition in deeper leagues.
