BALLER MOVE: Ignore in Most Leagues, Consider Adding in Very Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Once one of the top prospects in all of baseball, and on many popular sleepers lists, Mike Moustakas has been one of the biggest fantasy baseball busts in the last few years. In 2010, his final full season in the minors, he blasted 36 homers to go along with a marvelous .322/.369/.630 triple slash line. However, in four seasons in the big leagues, he has decreased production with each passing year.
While his power numbers aren't non-existent, they are undoubtedly underwhelming for a player of his pedigree and potential. So far in 2014, he has failed to muster a .200 batting average, currently sitting at .194 for the season. Though his 13 home runs in 284 at-bats isn't bad, that number (as well as most of his other offensive numbers) should be higher. Moustakas is only worthy consideration in extremely deep head-to-head leagues where he will not necessarily hurt you with his miserable batting average in the long haul, but can contribute at times in the power categories. Otherwise, feel free to leave him alone on the waiver wire as he continues the demoralizing downward spiral that has taken up most of the early stages of his career.
