Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays

Dallas Keuchel (HOU) @ Chicago White Sox

FanDuel - $8,100 / DraftKings - $7,100

So the matchup tool really likes Keuchel for tonight and it appears that 2015 stats have a lot to do with this. The White Sox were horrible against southpaws last year, but they have been much better against them this season. Meanwhile, Keuchel is enduring a nightmare 2016 after winning the Cy Young award in 2015. Stay away, things could get ugly for the lefty in hitter-friendly U.S. Cellular Field.

Madison Bumgarner (SF) @ San Diego Padres

FanDuel - $12,100 / DraftKings - $12,500

Bumgarner shouldn't have much trouble with a Padres lineup that, while league average against lefties, is striking out at a 25.1% rate. That number is sixth-highest in the league. Bumgarner has already seen the Padres once this season, holding them to two runs over 6.2 innings while striking out nine.

Clayton Kershaw (LAD) vs. Los Angeles Angels

FanDuel - $13,000 / DraftKings - $13,700

Kershaw is a good play no matter who he faces in all honesty. The challenge is fitting him into a lineup while also fitting respectable hitters. Not that it matters much for the mighty Kershaw, but the Angels are a favorable matchup for left-handed pitchers. They are ranked 21st in wOBA and 22nd in ISO when facing southpaws.

Matt’s Value Plays of the Day

Juan Nicasio (PIT) vs. Atlanta Braves

FanDuel - $8,400 / DraftKings - $7,300

Nicasio is a great option when the matchup is right and a fade when the matchup is medium to difficult. Today's showdown with the Braves qualifies as the former. Atlanta is last in the league in wOBA and ISO against right-handed and left-handed pitching. Their strikeout rate of 19.8% isn't great for Nicasio, but that shouldn't prevent him from outperforming his salary today.

Wei-Yin Chen (MIA) @ Philadelphia Phillies

FanDuel - $8,300 / DraftKings - $8,500

Chen was not treated kindly by the Phillies two starts ago as he was pounded for 11 hits and four runs in five innings. Based off Philadelphia's numbers against left-handed pitchers, I'm willing to dare them to do that to Chen again. Chen continues to be underrated in the fantasy community, posting quality starts in five of his seven outings.

Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball

Dallas Keuchel (HOU) @ Chicago White Sox

FanDuel - $8,100 / DraftKings - $7,100

Chris Archer (TB) @ Toronto Blue Jays

FanDuel - $9,700 / DraftKings - $9,800

Archer was knocked around by the Mariners in his last start and also struggled against the Blue Jays at the end of April. At his price this is a definite fade. There are several similarly priced pitchers in better spots today and Archer just isn't worth the risk as he's been too inconsistent this season.
