Take me out to the ball game. Take me out to the crowd. Buy me some Mookie and Samardzija too.
Who else should we play tonight? Sing on to find out.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/17/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs get a great matchup tonight against Tyler Chatwood and the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies allow more runs than any pitching staff in the league year in and year out. Continue to attack them on a daily basis, especially with one of the best hitting teams in the league.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays have been playing the Boston Red Sox in Boston. Tonight, Steven Wright is on the mound, so the Blue Jays should definitely score some runs. They have a ton of power at multiple positions, so using them in tournaments is definitely a great idea.
Washington Nationals
The Washington Nationals should hammer Charlie Morton tonight. The Philadelphia Phillies do not have a good pitching staff. Do not let the beginning of the season numbers fool you. Use the Washington Nationals in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Jeff Samardzija
Jeff Samardzija is entirely too cheap tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are a solid hitting team, especially at home, but Shark just pitched a great game against the Colorado Rockies in Coors Field. His price tag is much higher on DraftKings than FanDuel, which should be an immediate clue to use him on FanDuel.
Patrick Corbin
Patrick Corbin has not been great so far this season, but he does face off against the San Diego Padres in Petco Park tonight. Petco Park is one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks in the entire league, and Corbin has some serious talent. Combine that with the Padres inability to put the bat on the ball, and Corbin immediately becomes one of the best pitchers on the board.
Jhoulys Chacin
Jhoulys Chacin looked great in his first game of the season, which was against the Washington Nationals. He posted 42 fantasy points in that game. Tonight, he gets an easy matchup against the Miami Marlins, who, despite both Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon being in their lineup, fail to score a lot of runs. Chacin is the best tournament pitcher on the board tonight.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Miguel Montero
Miguel Montero gets a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies tonight, and he has been hitting fairly well so far this season. Based on his low price tag, use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
First Base (1B) - Prince Fielder
Price Fielder is off to a slow start so far this season, but he gets a great matchup against the Baltimore Orioles, and his price tag is definitely too low. Fielder has great power, and he can go yard on any given night. Use him in tournaments.
Second Base (2B) - Dustin Pedroia
Dustin Pedroia is hitting over .300 to start the season, and the Toronto Blue Jays are not going to be able to slow him down. He makes for the perfect 50/50 option due to his great consistency so far this season. He also has solid power for a second baseman, so using him in tournaments will also work.
Shortstop (SS) - Addison Russell
Addison Russell is purely a tournament option. He gets a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies tonight, and the Chicago Cubs are definitely a great stack in both 50/50 contests and tournaments, but Russell is too inconsistent to use. He has insane power for a middle infielder, so taking Tyler Chatwood deep is within the realm of possibilities.
Third Base (3B) - Travis Shaw
Travis Shaw is too cheap right now. He has established himself as the starting third baseman for the Boston Red Sox, and he is hitting over .300 to start the season. In his last four games, he has nine, 18, three, and nine fantasy points. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Mookie Betts
Mookie Betts did not record a hit in his last game, which was against the Toronto Blue Jays, but prior to that, he posted six, 18, 18, and 30 fantasy points in four games. His price tag is too low on FanDuel. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
Mark Trumbo
Mark Trumbo is one of the best hitters in the league right now, hitting over .400 with five home runs. He posted over 35 fantasy points in two of his last five games. Use him in all formats until he cools down.
Dexter Fowler
Dexter Fowler is too cheap, especially with his great matchup tonight against Tyler Chatwood and the Colorado Rockies. He has 27, three, 18, and 18 fantasy points in his last four games. Where does this play go wrong?
