It should be a fun and long day of baseball today!
There are a ton of great match ups, and the Colorado Rockies continue to play at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hopefully, they hit better tonight than they did last night, getting no-hit into the sixth inning.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/24/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Los Angeles Dodgers/Colorado Rockies
The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing off against the Colorado Rockies tonight in Coors Field. Coors is one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the league, and both teams should score quite a few runs. Alex Wood and Jordan Lyles are on the mound, and neither pitcher is all that impressive.
New York Mets
The New York Mets are taking on the Atlanta Braves tonight, and they have been hitting extremely well of recent. Yoenis Cespedes is not going to be playing tonight, as he is dealing with a leg injury, but that did not bother them last night. Against Aaron Blair, all Mets are in play tonight.
Toronto Blue Jays
Eric Surkamp is pitching for the Oakland Athletics today, so the Toronto Blue Jays should basically tee-off. They have one of the best offenses in the league, and it makes a lot of sense to use as many players as possible, as long as salary cap is not an issue.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Stephen Strasburg
Stephen Strasburg is simply the best pitching option on the board today. In his last two games, he has 50 and 66 fantasy points. On the season, he has a 1.58 ERA, 3-0 record, and 21 strikeouts in just as many innings. He gets a great matchup against the Minnesota Twins, and he should pick up his fourth consecutive win.
Jerad Eickhoff
Jerad Eickhoff has been pitching well so far this season. He has 42 and 60 fantasy points in his last two games, striking out 18 batters in 14 innings of work. The Phillies should win tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers and Wily Peralta, which will add 14 fantasy points to Eickhoff's total. Use him in tournaments.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Jarrod Saltalamacchia just recently hit his sixth home run of the season, and he is batting well over .300 to start his 2016 campaign. He is fairly cheap, and he has 18 or more fantasy points in six of his last nine games. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments today.
First Base (1B) - Lucas Duda
Yoenis Cespedes is not going to be playing tonight for the New York Mets due to an injured right leg. Apparently, he is limping around and will take the weekend off. That means that Lucas Duda should move up into the fourth spot in the batting order, and he has three home runs in his last five games.
Second Base (2B) - Jed Lowrie
Jed Lowrie has great upside at the second base position. He is extremely cheap on FanDuel, and he has home run power. On the season, he has double-digit RBIs and 19 hits in 65 at-bats. He is not the most consistent option on the board, so use him in tournaments and avoid him in 50/50 contests.
Shortstop (SS) - Troy Tulowitzki
Troy Tulowitzki should only be used in tournaments tonight against the Oakland Athletics. He gets a great matchup, but his batting average is under .200 on the season. Last night, he hit two home runs, and that could kickstart his season, but he needs to prove a little bit of consistency before he can be trusted. Avoid him in Toronto Blue Jays' stacks for the time being in 50/50 contests.
Third Base (3B) - Maikel Franco
Maikel Franco was entirely too cheap yesterday, and he remains a little bit too cheap today. Last night, he hit a home run, and he did the same thing the night before - twice. He has three home runs in his last two games, and he gets a great matchup against Wily Peralta today. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Carlos Gonzalez
Carlos Gonzalez is too cheap. He is hitting against Alex Wood in Colorado tonight, and he should be able to at least hit value. On the season, he has four home runs, 11 RBIs, and 12 runs. He has 20 plus fantasy point potential every time the Rockies play at home. Use him instead of Bryce Harper, Mookie Betts, or Mike Trout.
Dexter Fowler
Dexter Fowler's price tag is almost laughable today, as he gets a great matchup against Alfredo Simon (barring any setback). He has 12 or more fantasy points in five straight games now, and he is very likely to hit value. Use him in all formats without hesitation.
Hunter Pence
Hunter Pence is not hitting great so far this season, but he is still one of the better hitting outfielders in the league, and his price tag is entirely too low. The Giants are starting to hit better, and Adam Conley is known to allow runs. Pence has home run power, steal speed, and the contact to get the job done with runners in scoring position. Use him in tournaments for the time being.
