Phillies @ Marlins
More or Less Contest
Pablo Lopez more than 5.5 strikeouts and Spencer Howard more than 4.5 strikeouts
The Phillies have been striking out 23.4% of the time against right-handers over the previous 10 days, which should be high enough for Lopez to get over 5.5 strikeouts. He has struck out at least six in six starts this season and is fresh of an eight strikeout performance against the Mets. With Harper on the IL, the Phillies K rate is likely to be on the northerly move and that will begin this afternoon against Lopez.
We have not seen much of Spencer Howard in 2021, but he could work his way into the rotation as a main fixture if he is able to pitch well when given opportunities like today. He will be facing a Marlins squad that is striking out at a rate of 25.4% against right-handers over the previous 10 days, which is ranked in the bottom half of baseball. He just managed to strike out four Red Sox in three innings of work, so as long as he is permitted to pitch long today, he should be able to get over the total.

Cubs @ Pirates
More or Less Contest
Tyler Anderson less than 6.5 strikeouts and Kyle Hendricks more than 4.5 strikeouts
Tyler Anderson has a tough matchup in this one against the Chicago Cubs. While the Cubs are striking out at a rate of 27.1% vs. left-handers over the previous 10 days, they are also posting a wRC+ of 164, which is second-best in baseball over that span. Anderson has faced the Cubs twice and gone over this total in one of those starts (April 3rd), but the Cubs have gotten much better since those starts and this feels like a spot where he could get popped.
While the Cubs have gotten better since the last time these two teams have met, the Pirates have gotten a bit worse as their K rate vs. right-handers over the last 10 days now sits at 25.5%, which is ranked in the bottom half of the league. Hendricks has gone over this total four times on the season and the fact that this is an early day game also helps his cause. Keep an eye on the Pirates lineup leading up to first pitch as it is likely some regulars could be getting a day of rest.
