MLB DFS Prop Picks for 7/16 - PrizePicks

Julio Urias fantasy baseball rankings MLB injury news DFS lineup picks

Hello everybody and welcome! The 2021 MLB season is alive and well and that means our new friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props as well as hitter props in which you determine if the pitcher or hitter in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Tonight, we will look at some pitcher strikeout totals as well as some hitter fantasy point totals.

Single Stat and Fantasy Score MLBP and MLB Totals

Julio Urias under 5 strikeouts - Urias has a tough matchup at Coors Field tonight as the Rockies are not striking out much, or at least they were not striking out vs. left-handers leading up to the All-Star break. In the 10 days leading up to the break, the Rockies had the best K rate against lefties with a rate of just 11.9%. If you extend this out 10 more days, the Rockies still had the second-best rate with a rate of just 17.6% across 159 plate appearances. Urias has also failed to reach or matched this total in six of his previous eight starts.

Antonio Senzatela over 2.5 strikeouts - This number seems just a bit too low even though Senztaela struck out just two Dodgers in each of his previous two starts against them early in the season. Senzatela has gone over this total in 14 straight starts since he last faced the Dodgers on April 13th. The Dodgers were also striking out a bit vs. right-handers before the All-Star break as they were posting a K rate of 24.2% in the 10 days leading up to the break, which was ranked in the bottom half of the league.

Max Muncy over 9.5 fantasy points - This is a high fantasy score threshold, but Muncy has quite a bit going for him in this one. First, Muncy is playing in Coors Field where he has a career 1.057 OPS with nine home runs across 89 at-bats. He will also be facing Antonio Senzatela who has allowed a .298 BAA to left-handed hitters this season and has also allowed a home run in 14 at-bats to Muncy in his career.

Adolis Garcia over 5.0 fantasy points - This matchup is definitely more about the pitcher than the hitter, but Garcia is not too shabby here, either. Robbie Ray has allowed a ridiculous 17 home runs to right-handed hitters on the season and this is certainly a spot where Garcia could take advantage of this as he has seven bombs off left-handed pitchers himself. This game is also in Buffalo, which has been prone to the long ball. Even if Garcia does not go deep, he has still hit left-handed pitching well enough to produce five fantasy points as noted by his .257 average against them.
