Daily Fantasy Leagues - Fanduel Lineup Picks (4/21)
P: Felix Hernandez ($11,000): Hernandez is the highest priced player in the game for a reason tonight. The Mariners ace has a 1.91 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 28.1 innings this year. Tonight he faces a Houston team that has the third-most strikeouts in all of baseball with 164. He may cost a lot, but a complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts is certainly in play tonight.
C: Buster Posey ($3,100): Posey in the thin air of Colorado against a pitcher with a season ERA of 7.58, YES PLEASE! Posey has certainly struggled of late and has not had a multiple hit game since April 10th, but tonight is a matchup you simply can’t avoid.
1B: David Ortiz ($3,400): Big Papi should be happy to see Wei-Yin Chen again tonight, as their first meeting of the year resulted in Ortiz going 3-for-5 with an RBI. On the year, Ortiz is hitting just .239, but he had a good night on Saturday and the matchup with Chen could mean he puts up a big night. Take advantage of his reduced price today.
2B: Anthony Rendon ($3,100): The top RBI-producing 2B in all of baseball should continue to be a good option tonight. Rendon has supplied 14 RBI this year to go along with his stellar .324 batting average, making him a truly elite option. Tonight he faces Garrett Richards who gave up 8 hits and 5 earned runs in his last outing against Oakland.
3B: Kevin Kouzmanoff ($3,100): Kouzmanoff has certainly made the most of his playing time with Adrian Beltre out. Over the past two weeks, he is hitting .395 with 2 homeruns, 9 RBI and 7 runs scored. He has taken over Beltre’s cleanup role most games and has been the beneficiary of a stellar Rangers lineup. It is also important to note the Rangers opposition, Dan Straily, was only able to go 3.2 innings in his last outing, giving up 7 hits and 6 earned runs.
SS: Xander Bogaerts ($3,000): Much like Ortiz, Bogaerts dominated Chen the last time out. In their first meeting he was 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored. The talented youngster has been up and down thus far, but is still hitting .267 on the year. Don’t be surprised if he puts up a solid performance on Monday.
OF: Carlos Gonzalez ($4,600): CarGo is a career .340 hitter at home. CarGo is a career .308 hitter against right-handed pitchers. CarGo is at home against a right-handed pitcher tonight-- need I say more?
OF: Giancarlo Stanton ($4,600): Yes, he is facing Julio Teheran tonight, who has a 1.93 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 13 strikeouts thus far, but are you going to bet against Stanton? He is currently first in baseball in RBI (26), fifth in runs (14), and first in home runs (6). Fade him at your own risk!
OF: J.B. Shuck ($2,500): The gamble of the day is certainly Shuck for the Angels. On the one hand, he is leading off for second highest scoring team in baseball against a pitcher who has allowed 8 earned runs over his last two outings. The bad news is that on the year, Shuck is hitting just .189 including 5-for-29 over the last week. For a low price, he could well be worth the risk tonight.
