Breathe easy, Cardinals fans. The St. Louis Cardinals are “optimistic” that Yadier Molina will be a part of the team’s postseason roster.
The Cardinals catcher has missed the last two weeks after he sprained his left thumb while making a tag at home plate. If he’s healthy, it’s great news for the St. Louis rotation as they will pitch to their usual battery-mate. Molina has also proved to be a clutch player (.290 AVG) throughout his postseason-career.
GM Mozeliak says #STLCards are "optimistic that Yadier will be on our postseason roster" after Molina was examined by hand specialist today.

The 33-year-old won’t be at 100 percent, but he should be good enough to get out there and play. Molina will wear a custom splint that will help ease the pain when it comes to catching and swinging the bat.
St. Louis hosts the winner of the National League Wild Card game in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday, which buys another few days for Molina to get healthy. The seven-time Gold Glover and All-Star will likely bring his .270 BA, 4 HR and 61 RBI to the Cardinals on their quest for another World Series title.
