NASCAR DFS Prop Picks: Toyota / Save Mart 350 - Monkey Knife Fight

Sunday evening features the Toyota / Save Mart 350 from Sonoma Raceway in California. Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch make up the top five for this race. Monkey Knife Fight has an extremely easy fantasy point system: 0.1 points for each lap led and then a set amount of points for their position (20 for 1st place, 19 for 2nd place, 18 for 3rd, and so on).

Our friends at Monkey Knife Fight offer some of the coolest, and easiest to win, NASCAR DFS games in the industry. If you haven't checked out these games yet, you can start this weekend! Pick 1: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Kyle Larson MORE 18.5 Fantasy Points and Chase Elliott MORE 19.5 Fantasy Points

Larson and Truex Jr. are expected to be two of the better fantasy point producers at Sonoma on Sunday and we are fortunate to have both leading off here but...

Kyle Larson has not performed so well everywhere he drives. He usually has the fastest car and honestly, a top-three finish is almost a given provided the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver does not crash. Remember, there are only 90 laps on Sunday. Larson being awarded the pole is like a green light to lead some more laps. Larson had the fastest car a couple of weeks ago at Austin but the race was called short 14 laps from the finish. He may have caught Elliott honestly if there was more time. Either way, there should be just enough laps for the No. 5 to lead. Take the MORE here even at 18.5 points.

For a driver like Chase Elliott, he just loves road races. He has six wins in 14 starts on courses that feature right and left-hand turns. The sweeping left along with the package/downforce will be an adjustment but Hendrick Motorsports Racing has been so dialed in even with their pit stops and adjustments lately. Elliott has to finish in the top-three as well and he is the favorite to win the race on Sunday at Sonoma. It will likely come down to laps led unless the No. 9 wins. There should be just enough laps to be led for Elliott where the MORE can be taken.

This all boils down to wrecks mostly (do watch for very dry conditions) for the Toyota / Save Mart 350.

Pick 2: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Denny Hamlin MORE 14.5 Fantasy Points, William Byron MORE 14.5 Fantasy Points

This prop is rough because of where the drivers may start on Sunday at Sonoma. Denny Hamlin starts fourth and William Byron starts third which could help their bottom line.

Denny Hamlin again has not won a race in 2021 but he does well at Sonoma and could easily finish in or near the top-five again. Does he have a fast enough race car on Sunday? That is the question. A sixth-place result nets 15 points. Add in a few possible led laps due to pitting, and the possibility increases. Yes, this is a risk taken. Hamlin does have 11 top tens and nine top fives on the season so the odds are somewhat in our favor here. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver maybe throws in a surprise and ends up fifth or better on Sunday. Our pick is the MORE for Hamlin.

These point totals are intriguing with William Byron. He is a true wildcard as he does not have the best results on road courses but he has become so consistent that his road driving abilities have improved. Again, since Daytona, Byron has finished in the top ten in every race but one, and that was the rain-shortened Austin road race. The Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver has the speed to overcome any downforce issues at Sonoma. The low amount of projected points makes this too easy not to take the MORE here on Sunday.
