NASCAR Truck Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Dover KDI Office Technology 200 (8/21/20)

Let's get ready for a busy weekend at Dover!

Friday's Truck Series race will kick off a weekend packed full of racing. Two Xfinity races (which both have the same name, which is going to be really confusing for SEO purposes, isn't it?) and two Cup Series races (which also have the same name, though thankfully not the same name as the Xfinity races!) will make for a busy, busy weekend of racing.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the KDI Office Technology 200 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station.

Johnny Sauter #13 ($10,600)

Starting 15th

Sauter is yet to win in 2020 and he ranks 14th in the standings. He's finished outside of the top 20 in three of the past five races, and hasn't finished better than ninth in that span.

Those performances are concerning, but what can't be ignored is that Sauter has won here at Dover in the trucks.

Three times.

And the wins have all come in the last three races here.

Based on how he's been running, Sauter winning his fourth in a row is a bit of a longshot. But this is a great track for him and he comes in with some solid place differential upside as well.

Brett Moffitt #23 ($10,000)

Starting 1st

Moffitt starts on the pole.

Last year, he also started on pole here, leading 81 laps and finishing second.

In 2018, Noah Gragson had the pole and led 60 laps before crashing out of the race.

In 2017, polesitter Chase Briscoe only led three laps, but second-place starter Ryan Truex led 47.

Basically, drivers starting in the front row tend to lead a lot of laps at Dover. Moffitt starts on the front row. While he's still looking for his first win of the year, he has seven top 10s and is second in points. This should be a good race for him.

Todd Gilliland #38 ($8,900)

Starting 17th

Alright, let's get into the place differential guys now.

Gilliland starts 17th. Since Atlanta, he has three finishes outside of the top 10, with one of those caused by a wreck and the other by an electrical issue.

Dover hasn't necessarily been a great track for Gilliland in Trucks, with one top 10 in three starts here. But he did finish third here last year in a K&N East car, and he's been running well in the 38 truck. He's also potentially a guy who might not end up being highly rostered on Friday, which will help you diversify your lineup.

Derek Kraus #19 ($8,000)

Starting 16th

Kraus has a lot of the same upside as Gilliland -- a young driver in a truck that isn't elite, but that has enough speed to get into the top 10 on a decent basis.

Kraus finished 30th at Daytona after electrical issues, but before that had six finishes in a row of 11th or better. This Bill McAnally truck has really found speed over the past month and a half.

The last time Kraus was here was in 2018, when he ran the K&N East race. In that one, he started fifth and finished third, leading two laps in a race that was dominated by Ruben Garcia Jr.

I really like the 19's combination of place differential upside and consistency.

Bayley Currey #44 ($6,900)

Starting 28th

This is the second time in 2020 that Bayley Currey has driven a Niece Motorsports truck. Last time was Pocono, when he started 21st and finished 16th.

Currey's a tough driver to get a read on because he drives for a wide variety of teams with a wide variety of speed, which can be a blessing for DFS players on the weekends when he's in a better truck. This is one of those weeks. Niece has speed. Currey has top 15 upside while starting back in 28th.

Sam Mayer #24 ($5,600)

Starting 26th

Finally, we look at a really undervalued driver.

Sam Mayer makes his first start of 2020 for GMS Racing. Last year, he ran three races for the team, with a best finish of 19th. That's not super encouraging.

But GMS is one of the better teams in the series, and Mayer enters this race with a little more experience than he had last year. He's run eight ARCA races this year, with seven top fives. He's got two top twos in two ARCA Menards East starts. And Mayer also had 11 top fives in 12 K&N East races last season, which included a dominant win at Dover in which he led 123 of 125 laps.

Mayer is one of the sport's most interesting young drivers. He keeps having success in the lower series. Why not take a chance on him having success on Friday in his first Truck Series run of 2020?
