We're going dirt racing on Friday night as NASCAR makes its debut at Knoxville Raceway.
We'll have qualifying, so this week's article is missing some important information that can help you maximize your fantasy score. The lack of past track data also complicates things. But we know who is good at driving Trucks and who is good at driving on dirt, so those two things together should help us figure some things out ahead of time.
Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the Corn Belt 150 on DraftKings. Chase Briscoe #04 ($11,000)
Briscoe will make his third start of the season in the Roper Racing 04 truck. At the Bristol dirt race, he wound up starting way back in 33rd, but drove all the way up to a fifth-place finish.
The 04 has a good mix of "not much speed qualifying speed" and "a great driver who can maximize the car in the race itself," witht the added bonus of "having a great driver who can keep the car up front if he does wind up starting up front." Lot of upside here for Briscoe. Qualifying will determine just how good of an option he is and how much upside he has, but I'm feeling good right now.
Stewart Friesen #52 ($10,400)
Can't talk about dirt tracks without talking about Stewart Friesen.
The 2019 winner of the Truck Series race at Eldora, Friesen has a lot of experience on dirt. He grew up racing on dirt. He still races a ton of dirt track races all around the Northeast.
In five Truck Series starts on dirt tracks, Friesen has an average finish of 9.2. That includes three top fives.
When it comes to NASCAR races on dirt, Friesen is a no-brainer play. I mean, he took the Spire 77 car to a 23rd place finish in the Cup Series dirt race at Bristol. That takes a lot of work.
Grant Enfinger #98 ($8,500)
Enfinger is one of the best dirt drivers in NASCAR.
In four Truck starts at dirt tracks, Enfinger has an average finish of 3.8. His worst finish was this year at Bristol, when he struggled to a sixth-place finish. (Note: "struggled" is used sarcastically here, as Enfinger led two laps and...well, finished sixth.)
He's in the 98 this week, which is the best of the two trucks that he splits his time between. Enfinger is actually a great betting pick to win this race. In eight ARCA starts on dirt, he came away with three victories, so he knows how to get to victory lane at dirt tracks, even if he hasn't done it yet in the Trucks.

Parker Price-Miller #3 (7,900)
Here's where we start with some of the weirder picks.
Parker Price-Miller sounds more like a Mad Men-era advertising firm than a NASCAR driver, but the young Indiana-based driver has run multiple Knoxville Nationals.
Experience at this track should be a plus, even if that experience was in sprint cars. He's also got a pair of World of Outlaws wins -- not at Knoxville, but dirt experience at all is a plus.
My concern here is with this truck. Jordan Anderson's team has always been a solid mid-pack team, but something seems to have slipped here. After a second-place run at Daytona, no one finished better than 25th in the truck until the eighth race of the season. There was a DNQ at Nashville with Keith McGee driving. But Howie DiSavino III did finish 22nd last race at Pocono, so maybe the 3 truck is on the upswing. Price-Miller seems like someone who can get a good run out of it.
Jennifer Friesen #62 ($6,200)
Remember Stewart Friesen up above? This is Friesen's wife, who is also an accomplished dirt racer. She might not have the same track record of success as her husband and she did fail to qualify in her first attempt of the season, but I still have three reasons why I like her as a value play this week:
- She's only $6,200!
- She has a lot of dirt experience.
- We know that Halmar builds good dirt trucks, and the 62 is a Halmar truck.
And look, Friesen might not have a strong record like her husband of winning big races, but Driver Database says that she has 17 wins in her racing career and has finished in the top three in 12.4 percent of her races. Those are good numbers.
Jett Noland #45 ($5,800)
A lot of Jett Noland's dirt experience comes in Stadium Super Trucks, which probably translates zero percent to the Truck Series.
But Noland has two top 30s this season in the 44 truck. He's run some short tracks in other series and has a lot of road racing experience.
Look, though. This is a Niece Motorsports truck priced at $5,800. Noland's lack of experience is a concern, as is the fact that Niece trucks weren't great at Bristol. But if he starts near the back of the field, there's going to be some nice upside.
