Analysis: While pitching in a park such as Yankee Stadium, a HR/9 of 1.5 shouldn't come as a big surprise, even for a pitcher like Nathan Eovaldi who holds a fantastic career HR% of just 1.7%. In four starts this season Eovaldi has a 4.38 ERA, a 3.52 FIP, a 1.135 WHIP, and a remarkable 1.8 BB/9. The pleasant surprise about Eovaldi this season is his increased inclination for strikeouts in contrast to the extra HR he is allowing. While he had never averaged more than 7.1 K/9 in his five previous Major League seasons, Eovaldi is averaging a razor-sharp 10.2 K/9 so far with the Yankees in 2016. By seeking out more strikeouts this season, Eovaldi is inevitably leaving himself more vulnerable to the long ball. Despite averaging 11.5 K/9 at home this year he has an ERA of 6.55 thanks to allowing opponents a .897 OPS. When playing outside of New York, Eovaldi is safe to start. He will utilize his superlative ability to limit walks while not being so prone to XBH outside of Yankee Stadium, as he has a 2.63 Road ERA in two starts this season.
