NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers: DraftKings Advice for 11/16

By Keith Allison (Flickr: Carmelo Anthony) [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsAll throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as a couple of sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite DFS lineup picks and sleepers for Sunday 11/9.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off.  If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Editor’s Note: If you haven’t tried out DraftKings 1-day fantasy basketball leagues, RotoBaller offers the best bonuses around for these games. Sign up here and make a deposit for a new DraftKings account, and receive a 100% bonus on your deposit up to $200.

Top DFS Picks (Worth the Investment)

Ty Lawson (DEN, PG) - $7,500

Lawson has been the lone bright spot on a very bad Nuggets team. He has been their most consistent player, and appears to have put any lingering concerns about his recent ankle injury to bed. This past Wednesday, he exploded for 32 points against the Blazers, and had his first double-double of the season Friday night versus the Pacers.

The great thing about Lawson is that he seems to find a way to produce even when his shot is not falling. He has scored at least 31 fantasy points on DraftKings in every game this season except one. His high floor makes him a safe pick, and his juicy matchup against the Knicks makes him a candidate to outproduce an already affordable price tag.

Carmelo Anthony (NYK, SF) - $9,800

Anthony is the most expensive forward on the board by far. However, with only four games on the slate and a lack of other strong options, he is worth the price. The star forward destroyed the Utah Jazz in his last game, dropping a season-high 46 points on 16-26 shooting.

Anthony draws an outstanding matchup against the Denver Nuggets, who are surrendering 108.1 points per game. He has a usage rate of 31.1, good for fourth in the NBA, and is averaging 20.4 shot attempts per game. Melo is another guy with a high floor, and seems to be primed for another huge game.

Chris Bosh (MIA, C) - $8,500

The center position is extremely thin, so you will want to pay up here as well. Bosh does it all, averaging 21.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 threes for the season. His across-the-board production is rare from the center spot, so he always makes for a strong play in daily leagues.

The Miami Heat were without Dwyane Wade in their last game against the Hawks. If Wade were to sit again, it would boost Bosh’s value even more. Even if Wade does play, the matchup against Milwaukee is too good to pass up.

Best DFS Values (Sleepers)

Harrison Barnes (GSW, SF) - $4,800

Barnes has been a wildly inconsistent player throughout his NBA career, but with a small slate, one is forced to take some chances.

Barnes is a good bet, as he is currently in a groove that has featured four consecutive double-digit scoring performances. The minutes will be there as well, at least until David Lee returns.

The Lakers are always a good team to pick on for daily leagues. They are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, giving up 109.4 points per game. Roll with Barnes while he is hot, as the potential for great "bang for your buck" value is certainly there.

J.R. Smith (NY, SG) - $4,700

Did I mention the Nuggets are really bad? Smith is another inconsistent player that is worth rolling the dice on today. With so few teams in action, targeting a cheap player with upside to round out the roster is vital, and Smith is the guy. He loves to shoot, and can really light it up when he gets hot.

The main reason to like Smith today is that Iman Shumpert is doubtful to play. Smith should be the main beneficiary, absorbing some of Shumpert’s minutes and shot attempts.

With the Knicks currently having so few scoring options outside of Carmelo Anthony, it is reasonable to expect Smith to step up and hit value against his former team.
