Worth the Investment
Kemba Walker (CHA, PG) - $8,300
Since the injury to Lance Stephenson, Walker has been on an absolute roll, culminating this past Saturday with a career-high 42 points to go with 7 assists against just 2 turnovers. The fourth-year guard has been over 30 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games while putting up north of 40 in three of them.
Walker and Al Jefferson are the only consistent offensive threats for Charlotte and should be able to keep it going at home against the Bucks.
Luol Deng (CHI, SF) - $6,300
There should be a disclaimer stating that the forward positions are extremely weak tonight. Outside of studs Blake Griffin, Pau Gasol and Rudy Gay, you are likely better off looking at sleeper options. With that said, Luol Deng should be the top mid-tier option against the hapless Magic.
With Chris Bosh out, Deng has been more of a focal point on the offensive end for the Heat, which has boosted his season scoring average to 14.7 points per game. Over the last two contests, in which he has played 40 minutes each, Deng has a combined 41 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and three steals.
DeAndre Jordan (LAC, C) - $8,100
Jordan is turning into the Windex man with how well he is cleaning the glass of late. The Clippers' center has a ridiculous 54 rebounds during the team’s last three games.
Despite not being the focus of any offensive sets, Jordan is still scoring just under 10 points per game this season while delivering great defensive stats (2.4 BPG, 1.0 SPG). He does not have the upside of DeMarcus Cousins, but Jordan does have an extremely high floor.
Top Sleepers
Jarrett Jack (BRK, PG) - $5,600
Given the injury to Deron Williams, Jack has been a must-own player over the past week. Williams did return for the Nets' last game, but Jack still received the start and played 39 minutes.
Jack has contributed at least 23 fantasy points in five straight games and still has a low enough price tag to be considered a bargain. Much like Mason Plumlee, Jack is playing too well for coach Lionel Hollins to remove him from the starting rotation.
Jared Dudley (MIL, SF) - $4,800
As is the case with nearly all value plays, Dudley has seen an uptick in playing time and production due to injured teammates.
With rookie Jabari Parker out for the season, Head Coach Jason Kidd has turned to Dudley to take on a larger part of the scoring burden. Since December 18th, the 29-year-old swingman is averaging 15.6 points, 5.2 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists in just under 30 minutes per game.
