NBA DFS Prop Picks for PrizePicks: Friday, April 1st

monte morris fantasy basketball rankings NBA DFS lineup picks

April starts off with 10 games and just four teams playing on the second night of a back-to-back. The Pistons, Bucks, Clippers, and Lakers all played yesterday, but only the Eastern Conference teams came away with wins, despite both victories ultimately being meaningless. Unfortunately, for both LA teams, their competition tonight isn’t going to provide any type of relief, although the Bucks playing an overtime game against the Bulls yesterday might be the X-factor that allows the Clippers to steal a win Friday. However, the Lakers face a surging Pelicans team and New Orleans should secure another win as their momentum grows, while another Lakers’ loss further pushes them towards the darkness that is missing the playoffs and poor draft odds. With the Pistons proving to be the best-worst team in the NBA, look for them to keep up the pressure against the Thunder, as Cade Cunningham runs away with rookie of the year honors with late season heroics. The playoffs are just around the corner. Make sure each situation about each game is understood before blindly throwing money down.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest to win NBA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, March 1.

Editor's Note: Prize Picks prop totals are not always available first thing in the morning, so check back during the day as other props may be added during the day.

Al Horford OVER 9.5 Points – With no Robert Williams, Al Horford slides back into a primary frontcourt role and the stats should follow naturally, much like they did last game. Against the Heat defense, it’s should come as no surprise that Horford didn’t put up more than six points since it’s been the case for a ton of opponents that have lined up against Miami this season. The Pacers and Heat defenses are incomparable and the only worry is that it might be too easy for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to score on their own tonight and Horford might play 30 minutes without doing much. Horford’s Pts+Rebs+Asts line is sitting pretty at just 22.5, so even if he does little, anyone that pulls-down 15 rebounds against Bam Adebayo will rarely fail to produce against a less-skilled opponent. There are only a few games remaining and that means only a couple more chances to bet on the player lining up against Goga Bitadze, so even a veteran like Al Horford has upside here.

Aaron Gordon OVER 24.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts – Aaron Gordon had been on a solid scoring streak until his last game, but even in a poor shooting night he managed to put up eight rebounds and four assists to make up for the lack of scoring. Granted, Nuggets supporters would like him to be averaging 20 points a game like he was the previous week, but he’s not that type of player and his defensive effort is what keeps him on the court. The scoring is a great bonus, and when Gordon gets on an upward trend like he has been recently, there are few things defenders can do to stop his momentum and physical ability. The Timberwolves defense is much better on paper than they are a physically imposing defense and you need honed-in discipline to stop someone like Nikola Jokic. With Jokic leading the charge and Bones Hyland providing some impressive support from the backcourt, there’s not much for Gordon to do this game other than play help defense and force the issue at the rim.

D'Angelo Russell OVER 16.5 Points – D’Angelo Russell has been struggling against anything resembling a semi-conscious defense lately. He’s failing to hit the shots he takes when he’s able to get them, and against any type of intense defense, he’s unable to do anything but pass the ball to teammates who are able to initiate on their matchup. It’s been a rough season for Russell, but that doesn’t mean all hope is entirely lost. The Nuggets are one of those teams he’s proven to get shots up against and this entire season has been a testament to how Jokic has been forced to carry this entire team, especially make up for Denver’s lack of backcourt defense. Russell has upside here and recency bias will point to him having another low-scoring outing, but looking at the matchup with Monte Morris, Austin Rivers, or Bones Hyland, it’s hard to keep assuming the under confidently when you know he should have an excess of shots.

Other Recommendations

  • Jalen Brunson OVER 15.5 Points
  • Marcus Smart OVER 1.5 3PT-Made
  • Monte Morris OVER 19.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
  • Nikola Jokic OVER 28.5 Points

Overall recommendation for this play: POWER PLAY
