NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet 2/19
PG: Brandon Jennings ($16,343): Jennings put up a solid 24 points and 7 assists last night against the Bobcats. He gets another shot at them tonight in a home and home. Jennings has been hot of late scoring over 20 in 10 of the teams past 13 games while also putting up 7.6 assists a night in the last two weeks. Look for him to again take advantage of the diminutive Kemba Walker tonight.
SG: Bradley Beal ($12,934): Coming off of a 9 point night last night does not inspire a ton of confidence for a spot in your lineup tonight. That being said, Beal has been playing well of late including a 37 point outing last week against Memphis. Tonight he gets an Atlanta team that is middle of the road defensively but just gave up a big game to Paul George and Lance Stephenson. He is a bit of a gamble but that could pay off huge if he can hot from deep.
SF: Paul George ($13,946): As mentioned, George is coming off of a big night against Atlanta. He put up 26 points, had 4 three pointers and 3 steals. On the year, the surging George is putting up 22.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists a game. Those are all great numbers and all should be in range tonight against an awful Wolves defense. Minnesota is giving up just short of 102 points a game and allows opponents to shoot 47% from the floor. George’s price is fairly low right now so take advantage tonight.
PF: Jason Thompson ($8,351): With word that DeMarcus Cousins is doubtful for tonight, Thompson’s value skyrockets. Thompson has been pretty bad of late, having not scored 10+ points in six straight games, but was solid without Cousins earlier this year. In late January he put up back to back double-doubles without the star center. His matchup tonight should be a good one as Andrew Bogut and David Lee are both a question mark due to injuries meaning it should be backups primarily on the floor. For a player only averaging 7 points and 6 rebounds on the year, Thompson is worth a flyer for a low price tag.
C: Dwight Howard ($21,179): The long awaited return of Dwight Howard to Los Angeles could bring a huge fantasy night. He has been on a tear of late, putting up four straight double-doubles and is averaging 18.8 rebounds and 12.5 boards a game. Howard has also been the star many expected defensively with 10 straight games with at least 1 block. The Lakers are currently the second worst defensive team in the league giving up 105.6 a night. Look for Howard to prove to the Lakers that it was a mistake to not sign him as he puts up a big double-double.
U: Wesley Johnson ($9,413): With a ton of injuries in Los Angeles, Johnson has proven to be a more then solid all-around fantasy option. With big points being awarded for blocks and steals, he can provide sneaky value at a low price. Also, the Lakers and Houston game should be well into the 100’s for both teams meaning he should top the 13.6 points per game he has put up over the last few weeks. Johnson will never put up monster numbers in one category, but if he can score double figures along with a few rebounds and some defensive stats, he can easily top his relatively low value.
