NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet 3/11
PG: Ricky Rubio ($12,964): Most nights, picking a player who is averaging just 7.9 points a game over his past two weeks is not a great idea. However, Rubio could be the exception tonight as he is taking on a Milwaukee team that struggles against the opposing point guard and played a game last night. Outside of scoring, Rubio has been playing very well with 8.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals a night. If he can manage to get into double figures scoring, he should blow away his value tonight.
SG: James Harden ($19,696): Harden is proving over the last few weeks why he is one of the best fantasy players in the NBA. He is averaging 28.1 points, 7.1 assists, 4.9 assists and 2.4 steals a game over the last 15 games. Harden is also coming off perhaps his best game of the season as he had 41 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals against the Blazers. Tonight’s game against Oklahoma City should be an extremely high scoring affair which means the Rockets' top dog could have a monster night.
SF: Kyle Singler ($7,205): After a solid run of double digit scoring games, Singler only has one game over 10 points in his last five outings. The good news is that he continues to get a ton of run (32, 36, 30, 38 minutes in his past four games) which means he is great value for the low price. Singler also has been solid on defense with a block in five of his past seven games. For a punt option you could do far worse than a player who will get over 30 minutes against a Kings team that gives up points in bunches.
PF: Dirk Nowitzki ($14,694): Nowitzki is never the sexy pick of the night as he never seems to explode for a huge night, but his consistency makes him a good play each night. He has scored 22 or more in three of his past four while also grabbing 5+ rebounds in six straight contests. Also in a format where missed shots and turnovers are negative points, his 1.5 turnovers and 46% field goal rate over the past two weeks means he will not go backwards too often. A matchup with the inept defense of David Lee should mean Nowitzki tops his season averages of 21.5 points and 6 rebounds tonight.
C: Nikola Pekovic ($13,060): Since returning from a foot injury 10 days ago, Pekovic has continued to be a force down low. He has scored over 16 in each of his five games and grabbed 9+ rebounds in four of those five games. In the Timberwolves last game he put up his first double-double since returning. Tonight he gets a Bucks frontline that has no one who can even remotely get close to stopping the load that is Pekovic. Expect another big night from the Wolves center for a relatively low price.
