NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet 2/18
PG: Kyrie Irving ($16,715): Coming off of a huge 31-point and 14-assist game in the All Star game, Irving should see about the same level of defense tonight against Philadelphia. He's picked his game up of late, as he is putting up 21.3 points, 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds a game over the past two weeks. He still has shot just 42% from the field recently, but a weak Sixers defense should be the cure for that. The 31-14 line might be a touch high, but a similar night is not out of the question.
SG: Lance Stephenson ($12,291): After missing a game due to a hard fall, Stephenson returned for three games before the break and kept up his career season. One of the top rebounding guards in the NBA, Stephenson has pulled down 25 boards in the last three games while also scoring 41 points. Now that he has had a few days off, Stephenson should be able to put up big numbers against the Hawks. The league leader in triple-doubles has a shot at another one tonight for a relatively low price.
SF: Markieff Morris ($10,515): Outside of a strange 0-point game on February 8, Morris has been one of the steadiest options for Phoenix. He has scored in double figures in 12 of his last 13 games while bringing his season average up to 12.5 points a game. Morris also has a solid all-around game in which he averages 5.7 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks a night. He should yet again have good night against a Denver team that likes to run and is not known for its defense. Morris hasn’t had a huge game in a while; nevertheless, his consistency is great for this price.
PF: Tim Duncan ($15,754): Mr. Fundamental has continued to prove his name this season in San Antonio. Duncan has put up a somewhat surprising stat line of 21.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks over the past 15 days. He has five double-doubles in the past eight games he has played, and he's also working on a streak of 13 straight games with at least one block. The Clippers front line of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan will provide a good test, but Duncan always seems to come up big in big games. Expect a high-scoring affair in which the veteran big man posts a solid double-double.
C: Nikola Vucevic : ($13,521): Vucevic missed a few weeks earlier in the year with a concussion; in eight games since his return, he has scored in double figures in each contest. Vucevic has also put up double-figure rebounds in six of those games. The Magic center should have a field day tonight against a Milwaukee team that is decimated by injuries up front, including to starting center Larry Sanders. For a fairly low price, Vucevic is almost a lock for a double-double with a block or two tossed in.
U: Randy Foye ($9,743): Fighting through ankle and hamstring injuries coming into the break, Foye has been the most consistent playmaking option for Denver. It is still unknown whether Ty Lawson will play tonight; regardless, Foye should be a good fantasy option. Over his last two weeks, he has averaged 14.4 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds which makes for a good night for a cheap price. It should also be noted that for a guard, Foye is a solid source of blocks with 1.1 a game over the last few weeks which only inflates his value. In what should be a fairly high scoring game against Phoenix, Foye will likely be the top guard option for coach Brian Shaw. For under $10K, you can't ask for much more.
