The Daily NBA Fantasy Shopper: NBA Expert Picks for DraftStreet - 12/02/2013
PG: Patrick Beverley ($10,852): With Jeremy Lin out for the next few weeks, Beverly should continue to see a heavy workload. In his last game, he posted 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. That all-around game is what makes Beverly a very good fantasy play. Tonight, the Rockets take on a Utah team that is statistically one of the worst against opposing point guards. For his price, Beverly should provide a ton of value.
SG: Arron Afflalo ($13,348): Although he has slowed down in the past few games, Afflalo continues to have a career season. He is currently averaging 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists a game. Tonight he plays a Washington team that gives up 100.8 points a game on 47% opponent shooting. Afflalo hits 2.4 three-pointers per game, so he should be in for a big night.
SF: Marvin Williams ($11,881): Williams has taken advantage of the boost in playing time over the past few games to post double-digit scoring efforts in six of his last seven games. Over the past week, he's seen 32 minutes per game, and he was able to put up double figures in all three games. He is also rebounding well, having grabbed 24 boards over that span. Houston gives up 102.7 points a game and turns the ball over more than any team in the league; these factors should figure into Williams having a very a nice game.
PF: Nene Hilario ($14,455): After sitting out Friday’s game with a sore Achilles, Nene returned to the lineup Saturday to post another impressive 13-point 12-rebound game. He has returned to the player he was in Denver, which means a top-end low-post scorer and a solid rebounder. He is also shooting just short of 52% from the floor this year, which bodes well for tonight as he plays a Magic team that allows opponents to shoot 45% from the floor. Additionally, outside of Nikola Vucevic, Orlando struggles to rebound the ball. All of these factors indicate that Nene should be in for yet another good fantasy night.
C: Roy Hibbert ($13,052): The league leader in blocks at 3.8 a game, Hibbert has been a legitimate fantasy center this season. In addition to the blocks, he has thrown in 12 points and 9 rebounds a contest to make him a great option in all leagues. Tonight’s matchup is against a Portland team that only allows opponents to block 3 shots a game, but with Robin Lopez at center, there is a major mismatch in favor of Hibbert. He will never blow you away with points, but the rebounding and blocked shots make him a good play with the right matchup.
U: Tony Snell ($8,395): With their starting backcourt out due to injury, Chicago has turned to the rookie Snell to start at shooting guard for the past few games. Snell has been a pleasant surprise, putting up 31 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals over those starts. With only Mike Dunleavy healthy to push him for minutes, Snell has gotten 31 minutes a game over the past week and has filled in admirably. With Butler expected to be out another week, Snell should continue to start. For the low price tag, Snell should be able to put up numbers on Eric Gordon and the Pelicans tonight.
U: Chandler Parsons ($13,997): The wildcard of the night is Parsons. He came out of his last game complaining of back pains; however he was still able to put up 25 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Parsons plays over 35 minutes a game and has been the most consistent performer on the top-scoring team in the league. If Parsons is able to play tonight, he should be able to put up a huge night against an awful Jazz defense. Be sure to check in before the game to see Parsons's availability.
