NBA Rookie Fantasy Profile: Jonathan Isaac

Position: SF/PF

Team: Orlando Magic

Draft Spot: 1.06

Analysis: Isaac was a player that was being mocked as high as the top-3 to outside of the top-10. He is an extremely athletic prospect that comes with plenty of untapped potential. With that being said, he is entirely too small for the NBA right now, and he will need to add weight to help his progression. It is not surprising that Isaac is being compared to Brandon Ingram.

Isaac was a top recruit coming out of high school. It did not take long to see why. In only 26.2 minutes per game, Isaac averaged 12.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. He had respectable percentages across the board, shooting 59.3% from the two-point range, 34.8% from three-point range, and 78% from the free throw line. While he was a major part of the Florida State offense, he was more of a defensive minded player because of his length and athleticism.

Isaac was drafted by the Magic. They are a team that has been drafting long, athletic players recently, and Isaac fit the bill. He likely will struggle to find minutes, as the Magic have quite a bit of depth in the front court. Isaac's ability to defend multiple positions could help him find minutes, but they will likely be wildly inconsistent to begin the season.

Bottom Line: Isaac's minutes will likely be based on foul troubles early in the season. Once he carves out a role on the team, he has the potential to contribute in each of the five categories. With that being said, he isn't an aggressive players and will likely give up shots to the other players on the Magic offense.
