BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Yankees infielder Neil Walker has seemingly come out of nowhere to be one of the most productive players for the league's best team. While he is only hitting .210 this season with five doubles and 10 RBI, Walker has a .974 OPS over the last 14 days and has scored 17 runs this season.
We have to say that Walker has seemingly come out of nowhere in a bit of a tongue in cheek way, as the 32-year-old has had an OPS over .800 in three of the last four seasons. Walker topped 20 home runs in 2014 and 2016 and, while his slugging percentage is a rough .257 as of now, has a career .432 slugging percentage. Fantasy owners should buy-low on Walker while they still have a chance as well, as his 39% hard hit ball rate would be a career-best and his .268 BABIP is a career-worst.
The Yankees brought in Walker to provide depth across the infield and he has done just that, playing first, second, and even third this season. While he only has 1B and 2B eligibility, getting any piece of the Yankees offense is a good thing and the veteran Walker is a good pickup in deeper formats.
