NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/12/16): FanDuel & DraftKings Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for March 12th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

Another busy Saturday in the NHL with 12 games on the schedule. There are three early games but we will be concentrating on the nine games on the main slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

There are three road teams (PHI, STL, ARI) and one home team (DAL) playing on back to back nights with ARI and STL also playing a third game in four nights.

The playoffs are inching closer and the new wild card format has almost all teams fighting for a spot in the post season. It will be an exciting final three weeks that you want to miss.

NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, March 12th

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Jonathan Quick - Goaltender, Kings (Draftkings - $8,400  FanDuel - $8,600)

The Kings are the biggest favorite on the board on Saturday at home to the lowest scoring team in the league. Quick is best in a cash game format as the Kings rank 27th in shots allowed per game. He has gone 6-3-1 in his last 10 games with a .925 save % as the Kings try and hold off the Ducks in the Pacific Division.

Alex Galchenyuk - Center, Canadiens (DraftKings - $5,100  FanDuel - $5,900)

His salary has yet to reflect just how productive Galchenyuk has been in recent weeks. He has scored two goals in three straight and five of his last 10 games. He has bounced around the Habs top lines recently but seems to be cemented on the top line between Max Pacioretty and Sven Andrighetto.

Mark Stone - Winger, Senators (DraftKings - $5,600  FanDuel - $6,000)

The Senators still have an outside shot at the playoffs and get a terrific opportunity to pick up two points vs. the Leafs. Stone has been incredibly consistent and remains at a very affordable mid range price. He has tallied 11 points in his last 10 games and has already recorded five points in three games vs. the Leafs.

Jonathan Huberdeau - Winger, Panthers (DraftKings - $5,500  FanDuel - $6,200)

Getting Huberdeau back is exactly what the Panthers needed to make their push for the Atlantic Division. In his two games since returning he has already recorded back to back multi point games and added seven shots on goal. It won't be an easy matchup vs. the Flyers who are also fighting for a playoff spot but the Panthers are at home and the price is right.

Erik Karlsson - Defense, Senators (DraftKings - $8,000  FanDuel - $6,700)

The Norris Trophy favorite has been in a bit of a slump lately with only five points in his last 10 games with an awful -10 rating. The shot volume has stayed consistent as he is averaging over three shot on goal per game. He should be able to break out tonight vs. the leafs who rank 24th in goals allowed per game. In three games vs. the Leafs earlier in the year, Karlsson has torched them for seven points.
