NHL DFS Prop Picks for 5/3 - PrizePicks

sidney crosby NHL DFS daily fantasy hockey lineup picks

Hello everybody and welcome! We bring you another edition of NHL DFS on PrizePicks and that means our friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, NHL DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score. This game consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NHL, Single Stat consists of save and shooter shot props in which you determine if the goalie or shooter in question will go over or under their projected save and shot total respectively. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. For today's article, we are going to try and focus on the main board's Fantasy Score and see which players may go over or under their projected point totals. Let's see what the board offers today!

Fantasy Score Point Totals

Sean Couturier Over 3.5 Points. Couturier represents an easy pivot as we can again pair him with Claude Giroux if need be on Tuesday night versus the Pittsburgh Penguins. This is a weird sort of game as every "Battle Of Pennsylvania" often becomes. Couturier had an assist with five shots on goal Monday night. He is averaging three shots on goal a night over the last five games. So, if he gets an assist and 3-4 shots with a block, that should be good. For some strange reason, the first few games when either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin return is weird for Pittsburgh. They let down. It just happens. Take advantage of this while one can.

Sebastian Aho Over 4.5 Points. Riding a hat trick into another productive night is never an easy proposition. But the center had nine shots on goal and almost ten (Aho hit a crossbar). Aho now has points in five straight games and has been one of the hottest centers in fantasy hockey that get overlooked. He is up to 55 points (24 goals) in 52 games this year. Besides his 18 power-play points, Aho has three short-handed goals. So, the center can be a threat anywhere and at any time. Chicago can be attacked mercilessly and with the Blackhawks playing out the string, that only helps Carolina further. Some can pair Aho with Dougie Hamilton as well on Tuesday night.

Sam Reinhart Over 3.5 Points. This could be an easy one to take the over on just because Buffalo, with Reinhart, can produce solid bursts of offense. Reinhart had four points in his previous four games before a bit of a clunker over the weekend. That is going to happen now and then. But the Buffalo Sabres' winger has a very outside chance for a 30-goal season. He is at 25 now. The New York Islanders are a bit off-kilter right now. It may be a time to take a look at attacking them. Since the coaching change, Reinhart is just a completely different player.

Sidney Crosby Over 4.6 Points. This "Battle Of Pennsylvania" always features some dangerous prop bets. One can hit very quickly or lose trying to make reaches. The Crosby line was brutalized on Monday night. He did score a goal and had four shots on goal but the center was a -4. That will not sit well given Pittsburgh had an opportunity to get an easy two points. He also lost 15 of 19 faceoffs in what has been a bit of an erratic stretch for the center. Did Pittsburgh relax a little with the return of Evgeni Malkin? That is very possible. The risk here is heavy but may be worth it. Look at Bryan Rust as well.

Connor McDavid Over 5.6 Points. In a crazy pandemic season, McDavid is on absolute fire. He had two goals and two assists last night against Vancouver. What will he do for an encore? The amazing thing is that the center has blocks in three consecutive games to go along with his point production. Vancouver has the worst defense in the North Division since March 1st. Part of that is COVID but part of that is because of attacking forwards like McDavid. With Leon Draisaitl and Jesse Puljujarvi flanking him, Vancouver may have another long night trying to keep up with the center who can go from 0 to 25 in a blink of an eye.
