Nick Foles (QB, CHI) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: While Nick Foles might not be what you think of when you try to picture quarterback-greatness, he's getting the job done and not flopping at it. That doesn't mean he's someone you need to add or stream in shallow, one-QB leagues, but he should be good enough as a secondary option in Superflex or 2QB competitions, though. And yes, I can't believe either that these Bears are 4-1 this season with wins against the Falcons and Bucs already...

Foles's PPG aren't otherworldly. In fact, they rank 27th through the end of TNF at just 14.6, which wouldn't even make for a viable QB2 in your roster. That being said, though, there are some players above him that are going to keep missing time, or just were benched (Mitchell Trubisky, anyone?). Foles had a terrific performance replacing Trubisky in W3, throwing 3 TDs against 1 INT on 29 attempts for 188 yards. That has been his peak of the year at 18.2 FP on limited snaps.

As a starter, Foles has finished with 12.9 and 12.6 FP in back to back wins. He's connecting on 61%+ of his passes, and has thrown for 249 and 243 yards in those two matches with similar 1:1 TD:INT outcomes in them. Even on a not-so-bad game, WR Allen Robinson II underperformed a bit with just 10-of-16 receptions with Darnell Mooney catching 2-of-5. A few more catches and yards here and there wouldn't have been too crazy and would have boosted Foles FP a bit.

Again, don't make Foles your ultimate WW target at the QB position in deep leagues if you don't want to, let alone in shallower formats, but consider him a viable second-starter if you have no other players rostered or are already suffering bye-week effects.
