BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Nick Gordon made his MLB debut this year after being a highly-touted prospect up to 2018, and while his career ups and downs have kept his MLB ceiling at a moving target, the skills he has already demonstrated warrant blue chip consideration. Gordon entered the minors considered as one of the best infield prospects in the game, but that status slipped after a handful of pedestrian offensive seasons. He picked the pace back up though with an .801 OPS in 2019, and before getting called up this season, he recorded a triple, a home run, five steals (zero CS), and a .393/.469/.571 slash in 28 AB for Triple-A Saint Paul.
In 35 AB for the Twins in his rookie campaign, Gordon now has one HR, five SB (zero CS), and a slash of .314/.333/.400. His walk rate greatly lacks at the moment, but he has limited strike outs at an above-average clip and thus is placing a lot of batted balls into play. It would be preferable for Gordon to start hitting more line drives, but with a 53.6% grounder rate and his speed, he has been able to find offensive success early, and once he is on the base paths he can wreak havoc through stolen base volume. With his quickly adapting skill set and much higher ceiling than most others you'll find available, Nick Gordon is an intriguing addition in deeper leagues.
