BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 11% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We all know the old story about rookie tight ends and how they struggle to adapt to the NFL. Noah Fant's no exception to that rule, as through four games he hasn't surpassed 37 receiving yards in a single game.
But he's never had fewer than 29 yards and found the end zone for the first time in his career on Sunday against the Jaguars, a sign that Joe Flacco is starting to develop some rhythm with Fant.
Factor in just how weak the tight end position seems to be and the fact that Fant's snap rate of 72.7 percent in Week 4 means he's going to have plenty of chances to make plays with a quarterback who has a reputation for liking his tight ends, and you have an argument for picking Fant up as a backup tight end in deeper leagues. Sure, he could continue to slam himself into that rookie wall, but Sunday suggested that Fant has the ability to knock that wall down and be a key weapon for Flacco.
