BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 17% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I have been preaching the Nyheim Hines word for quite some time now, and it looks like the football Gods have finally heard me. In his last game on Sunday, Marlon Mack broke his hand and will miss at least a couple of games due to the injury. That has opened the door to Hines (and to Jonathan Williams, who was excellent along with him) to see more touches per game and boost his fantasy outcome.
Already taking advantage of Mack’s partial absence in Week 11, Hines finished the game against Jacksonville with 11 yards rushing and 24 receiving on three catches, although he was able to cross the goal line to get his first touchdown of the season. His volume was pretty much similar to what he had seen to this point in the season on average, but as I already said we should expect it to rise in the upcoming weeks and make Hines at least the clear go-to option on the backfield on the passing game of the Colts.
Hines is averaging four targets and 5.5 touches per game in 2019, and all of that is adding up to 31.9 yards from scrimmage weekly. Given his profile as a pass-catch tailback, he’s a perfect addition in PPR-format leagues to put in lineups as a flex option. Hines is in a two-game streak in which he has reached at least 44 yards from scrimmage or scored a touchdown and his 12.5 fantasy points in Week 11 is his season-best so far, perhaps a sign of things to come. With Houston on the schedule next, Hines is definitely someone to consider playing next weekend as the Texans have just the 25th-best defense against the position this year.
