BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 18% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Another week, another game of backing up for Nyheim Hines in Indianapolis. This is not new, but worth mentioning in case you want to add Hines to your roster. Now that you know the role he plays, you can make a better decision when it comes to adding or not Hines to your team. But even with his clear RB2 role, I’d still be inclined to pick him if available. He’s the clear weapon used in the passing game and although Marlon Mack isn’t going anywhere if not injured, Hines brings quite some upside weekly.
Jacoby Brissett or not, Hines is constantly seeing targets. Just this past week he logged his season-high with seven and caught four passes for 30 yards. His efficiency hasn’t been the best, but he’s having the opportunities to perform to good levels of play. He just has to finally make it click. Hines is averaging four targets and 6.4 touches per game in 2019, and all of that is adding up to 27.2 yards from scrimmage weekly. That is surely not a lot, but in deeper PPR leagues Hines is a good addition given his usage on the passing game and the potential scoring threat he brings with him.
Hines has reached 25 receiving yards in five of his nine games and he has caught at least three passes in six of nine. Provided he’s already a player that averages between six and eight fantasy points per game, a score can bump his outcomes to near 15 fantasy points. It hasn’t happened yet but he’ll probably finish the year with a touchdown or two just on pure receiving volume. Indianapolis faces three average-or-worse defenses against RBs leading up to the fantasy playoffs in Week 14 so Hines could be a good deeper-league addition and Flex play to have around up to that point.
