BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: While Marlon Mack is the clear go-to guy at the running back position in Indianapolis, Hines keeps being one of the best rushers to handcuff available in most leagues. Mack has had his health issues already this season, so he could fall injured going forward and then Hines will take onto the lead-rusher role for the Colts.
Right now, as the no. 2 option from the backfield, Hines is mostly used on passing plays with Mack taking on the rushing duties. That makes Hines a good addition in deeper leagues that use a PPR format, as he’s often catching most of the targets he’s getting. Even in such a low-usage scenario (he’s logged fewer than 10 touches in every game this season) Hines has made the most of his chances. He’s topped 25 receiving yards in four of his seven games with a season-best of 46 in Week 5 and he is averaging 6.2 fantasy points per game.
Again, Hines is not someone you should consider in shallow or 12-team leagues, but he’s a good player to have stashed in your roster just in case Mack misses time if you are playing in a rather deep league. He doesn’t offer much upside by himself playing behind Marlon Mack now but can become a workhorse if anything happens to the lead back in the future and has the ability to perform to good ceilings if given that role.
