BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 31% of leagues
ANALYSIS: He's back, he's starting every day in center field, he's batting leadoff. Yes, after missing almost two calendar years due to a domestic violence incident, Odubel Herrera is back and contributing for fantasy managers. He's not the most popular player in the Majors, but fantasy baseball is not the place to have a moral dilemma over Herrera's checkered past. Any player that can help win should be rostered and Herrera is a prime candidate for those seeking runs or batting average help.
Herrera has hit leadoff in all but one game since May 30. In that time he's batting .313 with 15 runs scored in 15 games. On the season, he's slashing .275/.337/.443 with five homers and four steals. Herrera has thrived thanks to improved plate discipline as he's sporting a career-best 16.8 percent strikeout rate with a 0.45 BB/K rate. Just what you want in a leadoff hitter. Herrera is also making strong contact as he's sporting a 40 percent hard-hit rate and an 89 MPH average exit velocity, both career-highs. He's got good speed, bats atop a potent lineup, and has the advanced metrics to back up his success thus far. Fantasy managers in need of an outfielder can turn to Herrera knowing he should be able to maintain his success.
