ANALYSIS: Otto "Wilt Chamberlain" Porter Jr. joined the Warriors this past summer through free agency. Golden State inked him to a one-year deal and, by the look of it, OPJ has turned into a freaking steal for an already-loaded squad. Flex on them, I guess. Otto is playing low minutes (at least under no heavily-COVID-affected-rotation issues) logging around 20 MPG on the year. That paints a proper picture of Porter's upside as a second-unit heater.
Otto is averaging a low-but good 7-5-1-1 per-game line. He's limiting turnovers below 1.0 a game, and he's also blocking 0.6 shots. For someone playing in the 20s, that's far from bad. In fact, Otto Porter is one of only two (DeMarcus Cousins) players averaging that line while playing fewer than 20 MPG this year. Even better: Otto is hitting 1.5+ three-point shots per game while hoisting 4.0 for a solid 39.8 3P% through 27 games played before Christmas.
Of course, Porter's usage rate is always going to be on the low side of things no matter the unit he plays in. He's a great spot-up shooter, will keep shooting threes nightly (and more importantly hitting them at a high clip) and he comes with a nice rebounding upside. Other than that, he's been good at swatting shots of late but that looks more like an outlier development than a steady tendency. With reinforcements coming in the shape of Klay Thompson and protocol-returning Andrew Wiggins/Jordan Poole, don't expect an increase in chances/usage/opportunities coming Porter Jr.'s way, though.

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
