BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 19% of leagues
ANALYSIS: At 28, Paul Fry has already been a seasoned resident for the Baltimore Orioles over the last four seasons, and since his hiccup year in 2019 he has steadily improved over time, and he has started 2021 looking flat-out dominant. The alumnus of St. Clair County Community College has started the season with two saves, six holds, a 1.99 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 1.56 FIP in 22.2 IP, capitalizing on his chances in the limited high-leverage innings the Orioles have offered.

He still has his issues with walks, but his strikeout rate has gone from 21.6% in 2019 to a robust 36.7% this season. The hits he has allowed have been the product of a 27.7% line drive rate, but he has also been producing grounders at a 48.9% clip, and with just 12.8% fly balls, a stifling 31.9% hard hit rate, and 86.6 allowed average exit velocity, it is easy to see the connections that have minimized batter damage with Fry on the mound. The ERA, WHIP, and strikeout numbers provide value on their own, and even better if your league rewards holds, so with Paul Fry proving himself the go-to guy in Baltimore, he is worth rostering in moderately-sized leagues.
