BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: The set-up man is the leading candidate to earn the Cubs' closer role, if Kevin Gregg is dealt before the trade deadline. Rumors in recent weeks tabbed Blake Parker as a possible closer replacement, but his odds have worsened. Strop has been nothing short of brilliant since he was acquired in a trade from the Orioles (July 2). In 7 2/3 innings pitched (9 outings), he has posted an astounding K/BB ratio (10/2) to go along with a minuscule .120 BAA. In the outings, Strop has possessed much greater command to along with his electrifying stuff: two ingredients which make for a highly productive closer. Strop is a solid stash for needy-save owners, but not quite a "must-add", until a Kevin Gregg trade becomes official.
