Philip Rivers Lights It up for Fantasy Owners Despite Loss

For Philip Rivers, Week 6 was one for the ages statistically. Unfortunately, it didn't result in the San Diego Chargers leaving Lambeau Field with a victory. The Chargers lost another game in heartbreaking fashion, as the Green Bay Packers stopped them four times straight from inside the five to preserve a 27-20 victory. Now, enough about the actual game itself, because Rivers simply lit the Packers secondary up, while putting together one of the best days for a quarterback in recent memory.

Rivers threw the ball a ridiculous 65 times, completing 43 passes for 503 yards and two touchdowns. Possibly the most impressive part is that he didn't throw an interception over the span of those 65 attempts. Rivers' incredible day made him one of the best fantasy quarterbacks of Week 6 (obviously), but it also placed him in elite company.

When all was said and done, he now ranks in a tie for No. 16 for the most passing yards in a single game with Ben Roethlisberger, according to Pro-Football-Reference.com. Yes, the Chargers have lost four of their last five games, and nearly lost the one game that they did win, but hey, Rivers is performing like an elite fantasy quarterback. To top it off, the upside for the Chargers is obviously there.
